step 7 
 finish off both line art layers  refering back to earlier layers as nessasary  . i relised while drawing the background the picture looked to cramped so i changed the   canvass size  .

step 8  bring the  colour block out layer back and the background  as you can see the  size change meens i had to fix up a few   sections and add the colours for the goggles i added as i cleaned up the lines . at this stage i added a  light glow layer behind the  charactor colours  .

step 9  . im only showing a few layers her  iv dropped the colour layer to show the shading .  iv shaded the colours on a seperate layer . instead of shading using black and white i used a darker coulor similar to the one benieth  on a multiply layer to build up the  shadows . i did similar on a lighten layer to create the highlights .
 with the highlights and shadows done  i then created a teaxture layer and played around adding textures to otto and the metal surfaces . i also shaded in the clouds keeping them transparent 

step 10 
 this step is trial and error . veiwing all the layers as you would finished  . i relised the background stripes are way to bold , so i added another layer at 60% transparency in front of the background to soften the stripes  i also added a few fabric textures to the dress  and tweeked the saturation . almost finished
